The Tale of Despereaux
Book design for the children’s novel The Tale of Despereaux. The book is based on Despereaux, a mouse who falls in love with a human princess. Despereaux becomes the hero of the story by saving the princess and brining back soup to the city. The layered kitchen utensils are meant to mock a dark city. The yellow ladle and the bright type for Despereaux is an abstract representation of the light that Despereaux brings back to the princess and the city.
